LaLiga Match Review Girona V/S Barcelona [15/09/2024]

Barcelona, on top of the table, faced 6th place Girona in the 5th match of La Liga.

The match started slow, and Barca took off slow-paced.

Barca started with a chance in the 6th minute as Lamine Yamal shot in the center from an assist by Pedri but was saved.

Another attempt from Inigo Martinez was blocked in the 12th minute.

Girona stepped up their game as Miguel Gutiérrez took his shot assisted by Bryan Gil which was saved by Marc Andre ter Stegan in the middle of the goalpost in the 17th minute.

Barcelona missed plenty of chances before the first goal was scored by Yamal.

Bryan Gill's shot was saved by Ter Stegan.

Yamal doubled Barcelona's lead in the 37th minute as he scored from an assist by Robert Lewandowski from a set-piece situation.

Robert Lewandowski assisted in his 100th match for Barcelona.

There were no signs of slowing down for either team.

The second half commenced with Barcelona adding another goal to their name.

Cristhian Stuani scored Girona's first goal in the 80th minute from an assist by Portu.

Red card!!!
Ferran Torres was shown a red in the 86th minute.
He goes for the ball but the last touch was Yáser Asprilla as he passed the ball away from Ferran’s range.

Pau Victor's shot was saved.

The match ended Girona 1-4 Barcelona.

This clash between FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC guaranteed great potency and goals. FC Goa used their usual 4-2-3-1 pattern whereas Chennaiyin FC followed the 4-3-3 formation. The El Clasico The clash of Titans always guarantees goals. The second half showdown saw Barcelona owning the Bernabeu after thrashing them 0-4 at home. The first half ended with a draw despite efforts from Kylian Mbappe, which were flagged after being offside.   Barcelona's impressive high line proved to be a huge success in this match, as Real Madrid were caught in the offside trap 12 times, with Kylian Mbappe alone being caught offside 6 times in the first half.    Real Madrid's 2 goals were disallowed after Mbappe was caught offside.
