ISL MATCH REVIEW EBFC VS FCG [27/09/2024]

East Bengal FC faced FC Goa in their 3rd match of the Indian Super League.
The two sides were yet to claim victory.

The match started with the visitors getting a chance.

The Gaurs pulled up the gear as Borja Herrera gave them a boost in the 13th minute.

The Spaniard shot a rebound into the back of the net to open the scoring against his former team.

East Bengal's defence looked shaky after the first goal and Hijazi Maher’s defensive error gave Goa the goal they needed to double the lead.

Boris took the ball and gave it to Borja who made no mistake, perfectly placing the ball.

This brace from Herrera meant FC Goa become the first team to hit the milestones of 350 goals.

FC Goa conceded a penalty in the 29th minute.
This is the 3rd penalty in 3 games for Goa.

The penalty didn't seem genuine to begin with.

This penalty was converted as Madih Talal scored from the spot.

The two clubs' goal differential was narrowed by this goal

Borja Herrera scored yet another in the 71st minute. He completed his hat-trick with a solo effort.
The Spaniard was applauded by the East Bengal fans. A truly heartfelt moment.

Goa was completely dominant in all aspects of the game.

The Gaurs were reduced to 10 men in the 81st minute. It was a double yellow which led Carl McHugh to see red.
The second yellow was unnecessary and could have been avoided.

FC Goa still held composure irrespective of being one man down.

The hosts managed to get one goal after substitute David Lalhlansanga scored in the 85th minute. 
This goal was insufficient to alter the game's narrative.

The match ended EBFC 2-3 FCG.

Poor refereeing led FC Goa being one man down in crucial moments of the match.

FC Goa earns their first victory of the season.
East Bengal FC is yet to win an ISL match after losing 3 consecutive matches.
