DURAND CUP 2024 FCG V/S TAFC [08/08/2024]

FC Goa defeated Tribhuvan Army FC 2-1 in a nail-biting thriller.

    •FCGoa opened the scoresheet in the first           minute of the match.
    •Offside goal by Tribhuvan FC
    •FCGoa doubled their lead in the opening             minutes of the second half.
    •Tribhuvan Army FC scored their only goal.

The gaurs opened the scoresheet within 40 seconds of the commencement of the game from a wonderful shot by Abawiha.

The Gaur's game showed no sign of slowing down as they tended to make it tough for TAFC.

TAFC managed to net one goal but was ruled out by the whistle for a foul by TAFC.

FCg held the majority of ball possession.
Both teams had their chances of scoring with FC GOA having an early advantage.

The first half ended FCG 1-0 TAFC

FCG had 3 shots and a shot on target and TAFC didn't register a shot yet.

The second half commenced as both the teams were eager to gain the win.

In the 50th minute, Goa took a corner where it reached the centre of the box. Sitroy was present and a simple tap in increased goas lead.
Goa have improved their gameplay compared to the first half.

TAFC’s Basant scored an absolute stunner goal. Being surrounded by 4-5 FCg players he attempted a long-range shot, which left the goalkeeper looking helpless as he saw it just net it in.

Red card!!!
The gaurs were reduced to 10 men after Sitroy was shown a second yellow thus a red.

TAFC kept pushing forward but the Goan defence was held strong.
6 minutes of added time.

Despite the departure of Sitroy and being one man down FCG held their composure not letting TAFC take advantage of that.

The score at full-time was FCG 2 - 1 TAFC.

FC Goa’s 2-goal lead wasn't affected after the red card was shown to Sitroy.

The game was poor throughout the first half.

TAFC’s goal was an amazing screamer, a long-range shot from being surrounded by 4-5 FCG players.

The match progressed with great determination as both the teams fought for the 3 points. FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC both followed the 4-2-3-1 formation.
