EURO 2024 SPAIN VS GERMANY [05/07/2024]

La Roja knocked out the hosts.

Dani Olmo replaced Pedri.
Dani Olmo opens the scoresheet for la Roja.
Wirtz equalised for Germany.
Merino won it for Spain .

The match started with high intensity as both teams competed for the spot in the semis.

Pedri registered a shot on target for Spain in the 2nd minute of the game.

Pedri was brought down in the 5th minute after a tackle by Kroos.
Kroos avoided a yellow card because of a slight touch with the ball. Pedri will now miss the rest of the Euros. The tackle required a card to be shown which wasn't 
Dani Olmo replaced Pedri.

Germany dominated possession so far but failed to have a meaningful attack. 

After receiving a cross from Kimmich, Kai Havertz gave it straight to Unai Simon.

Both teams had their chances but were not successful in netting it.

The first half ended Spain 0-0 Germany.

La Roja were leading against the hosts.
Spain had been the better side since the beginning of the second half.

Unai Simon had been tested so far and he did a good job denying those shots.

The match saw extra time as Wirtz equalised.

Germany made a penalty appeal as Musiala’s shot hit cucerallas hand. The referee looked unfazed as cucurellas hand was close to his body.
Var check was completed and it stuck with the on-field decision.

The referee has made some errors in the game which caused outrage amongst the fans.

Mikel Merino ends the host's journey after a wonderful header from a brilliant ball from Dani Olmo 
Germany didn't stop here.
Determined to make a comeback they made counterattacks but all in vain.

The match ended with Spain 2-1 Germany.
 
The hosts were eliminated as Spain advanced to the semi-finals of the Euro 2024.
