LALIGA Match Review Barcelona V/S Rayo Vallecano [19/05/2024]

Lewandowski's opener and Pedri’s brace gave Barca the last home win this season.

The first half begins and 3 minutes underway and Lewandowski opens the scoresheet for FC Barcelona.

This goal means Lewandowski now has 18 goals this season.

Excellent assist from Yamal. The execution was just perfect: the pass, the shot, the finish, everything.

Rayo was very close to equalising but Ter Stegen scrambled it away.

Barcelona were in complete control over the game.

Rayo had their chances but Barcelona's defence was not going easy.

Cubarsi was excellent at picking up passes made to him, keeping an eye all around.

20 minutes into the first half and Barcelona showed no signs of slowing down the tempo.

There was opposition to the referee's decision.

FC Barcelona were shown 3 yellow cards in the first half.

The first-half score: FCB 1 - 0 Rayo Vallecano

FCB made a substitution as Christensen replaced Roberto just before the second half resumed.

Barca looked forward to doubling their lead.

Barcelona got that chance as Cancelo took his shot firing it into the bottom-left corner but a foul was already given.

Substitutions were made by both teams in the 62nd minute.

For Rayo, Jorge de Frutos is replaced by Andrei Ratiu and Oscar Valentin is replaced by Miguel Crespo.

Meanwhile, Barca brought on Araujo, Felix and Pedri replacing Cubarsi, Raphinha and Fermin Lopez respectively.

These substitutions led to refreshing both teams.

Rayo tried their best to equalise but Araujo wasn't going to be easy and of course, he did block a shot.

Barcelona doubled their lead in the 72nd minute as Pedri took his shot from a rebound and no doubt it was a splendid goal.

Another 3 minutes was enough for Pedri to score again. Araujo had possession in his half and gave a long pass to Pedri who beat the offside trap and held off 3 defenders before striking past Dimitrievski.

Substitutions came up for Rayo as García, Sergio Camello and Isi Palazon were replaced by Pep Chavarria, Radamel Falcao and Unai Lopez respectively.

For Barca, Lewandowski was replaced by Victor Roque as he marked his 13th LaLiga appearance.

Victor had an immediate impact gaining possession.

The game ended with Barca 3 -0 Rayo Vallecano.
