ISL(semi-final) Match Review FC Goa V/S Mumbai City FC [24/04/2024]

A brace from Lallianzuala Chhangte and a goal from Vikram Partap Singh led Mumbai City FC on the path to victory in the first leg of the semi-finals at Fatorda.

The stadium achieved peak attendance levels

FC Goa dominated the first half.

Manolo Marquez's side highlighted their dominance in the 16th minute as Boris scored in the initial stage of the match beautifully assisted by Mohammad Yasir giving Goa an early advantage.

The second half continued to be dominated by Goa and was seen as Goa managed to have a 2-goal lead.

Brandon scored a long-range shot which no doubt had to be a goal. Brandon’s form and ability don’t go unnoticed as he has now scored 3 goals in 3 matches.

It seemed Goa had everything to keep the clean sheet and take the win but football is all about comeback and hope till the final whistle is blown.

Mumbai City FC did prove that.

Mumbai relied on the substitutes who combined well to score.

Goa's defence looked unstable after the first goal.

The 5-minute extra time was enough for the visitors as Vikram Partap Singh and Lallianzuala Chhangte made a comeback enough to silence the crowd.

3 goals in 6 minutes led to Mumbai City FC snatching away the win Goa had kept safe all the 90 minutes.
