(ISL Knockout) Match Review FC Goa VS Chennaiyin FC [20/04/2024]

FC Goa advanced to the semi-finals of the Indian Super League after beating Chennaiyin FC 2-1.


A completely deserved win as they proved it throughout the match.


The attack was strong and the defence was solid.


FC Goa started the match dominating and testing Chennaiyin FC continuously with the very first attempt made by Noah Sadaoui in the opening minute of the game.


Goa continued the game with high intensity.

The crowd erupted at Fatorda as Noah Sadaoui gives Goa the lead in the 36th minute. .


Chennaiyin FC pushed hard to level the game but they weren’t successful.


9 minutes after the first goal, Brandon Fernandes made it 2-0 to the delight of the fans.

He observed the goal, ran past defenders with vision and took his shot and of course, he had to score. This goal was his second goal of the season.


In the final minutes of added time, Chennaiyin FC’s Lazar Cirkovic scored a goal following a corner.


The score at the end of the halftime was 2-1.


The second half began with Chennaiyin FC trying their best to equalize the game but they failed to execute it well as their attempts were saved.


Narrow escape for Goa.

CFC was very close to equalizing, having 2 chances as Dheeraj ran to collect it outside the box Murray took a shot but this time the defenders made sure to block it but he got a rebound which was finally collected by Dheeraj.


Goa continued their dominance in hopes of scoring another but their attempts were blocked.


The match ended 2-1.
