The match progressed with both teams demonstrating sheer determination.
FC Goa followed the 4-2-3-1 formation whereas BFC used the 4-3-1-2 pattern.
FC Goa’s head coach Manolo Marquez had made 4 changes to his side in the starting 11 namely bringing on Narayan, Rowllin, Boris and Carlos Martinez.
BFC’s head coach G. Zaragoza had only made one change to his side as Shivaldo was bought on.

This game was assured to be intense as both the teams fought for the 3 points.
FIRST HALF
The intense battle began with Shivaldo Singh giving Bengaluru FC the lead in the 2nd minute. Little confusion at the back and the sidelines of FC Goa questioning it for an offside but no, it was a clear onside giving Bengaluru FC an electrifying start away from home.
FCG tried to build pressure on BFC’s defence but Gurpreet Singh Sandhu managed to keep control over the lead as he made important saves.
FC Goa’s goalkeeper Dheeraj made slight errors that could’ve cost them the game.
Bengaluru FC failed to maintain the pressure as they continuously fell back to defend their lead.
22nd minute and FCG’s Odei Onaindia managed to score the equaliser. There was a slight confusion regarding whether it was a goal or not and the referee Crystal John had to consult the linesman to conclude.
It was a goal... The score was now 1-1.

SECOND-HALF
The second half started with seeing Jay Gupta being brought on replacing Narayan Das.
Not very soon did FCG get an advantage as BFC had to play the match one man down. It was the 47th minute and Suresh Singh was sent off getting a direct red card after being involved in a challenge with Boris.
Upon receiving the red card, Suresh and the BFC’s sidelines were disappointed and shocked at this decision taken by Crystal John as it all happened right in front of the linesman.
Noah tried to score but it was blocked by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
FCG continued to take control over the match, pressurising the backline. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu had to stay alert and he was, making crucial saves.
Bengaluru made 2 substitutions as they brought on Jessel Carneiro and Keziah Veendorp replacing Shivaldo Singh and Javi Hernández respectively.
Goa also made changes as Udanta Singh and Borja Hererra replaced Seriton Fernandes and Carl McHugh respectively.
Boris tried to put his name on the score sheet but was blocked.
Goa kept the BFC’s defence on its toes the entire match, having a total of 163 passes in the final third of the match whereas BFC only had 33 passes.

BFC’s side saw changes to ignite a new spark of energy. Rohit Kumar and Oliver Drost replaced Sunil Chetri and Ryan Williams.

A beautiful nutmeg from Jay Gupta leads the ball to Borja Hererra passing it beautifully to Boris Singh who scored the 2nd goal of the night to make it 2-1 at the fortress.
BFC made a substitution, Chinglensana Konsham was replaced by Sivasakthi Narayanan.
Goa made the last 2 substitutions as Brandon Fernandes and Noah Sadaoui were replaced by Muhammed Nemil and Paulo Retre respectively
The second half saw 7 minutes of extra time.

The final outcome of the match was 2-1.Both the teams displayed unwavering passion and determination with BFC taking an early lead as soon as the match started but FCG were quick to respond with their impressive counterattacks and the equaliser before the half-time and soon clinched the win.
Goa clinched the 3rd position before the international break which resumes on the 30th of March.
